Week 13, day 1
It's day 1, of week 13 of the rest of my life. This blog has done its job, I mostly used it as a sort of diary but now and then I did get some decent tips or tid-bits in. So, this is really it, farewell!

post to come
With the first step of my Makers journey over, the next begins with me becoming an alumni helper starting Monday. I've got high hopes for getting the job I'm after but at the same time I've become so fond of Makers that I kind of don't want to leave.
Final day as students at Makers. In the morning we got to meet some of the preferred hiring partners and in the afternoon we invaded the pub!
Despite the fact that Makers help a lot in placing us in jobs they also offer training and opportunities for us to go out there and find our own jobs if there's nothing on offer that tickles our fancy.
Job prep continues today with further insight to tech tests.
Nothing fun to report today. I want to be coding but I'm doing admin. Unfortunately we have to go through the business of cleaning up our git repos and preparing our CVs.
I did encounter an issue with getting an accurate CodeClimate report on one of our repos.
This is it, hiring week, our final week as students at Makers, during which we are coached in making our github repos presentable, writing a functional CV, handling tech tests and interviews. More on that later in the week.
So one of my teammates on the 2-day Makerthon - Gymbuddy pushed up some changes to our readme and most of our tests started failing even though they were passing before. We were perplexed because no code or tests had been touched. Stay with me for more.
Predictably, not much to report today. Batteries need recharging so I've done mostly a whole lot of nothing.
I did do some reading on WebGL last night and plan to do some tutorials on it tonight. Or maybe I'll just play Diablo III instead, I'm so conflicted!
I think the best I can do today is deliver a post-mortem for the after-graduation events of last night. It was an amazing day at Makers and it deserved an even more excellent night out on the town, and it certainly got that.
It's here at last. D-day. We finish off our projects and present them to a packed room this evening. I've never been so nervous in my whole life.
You can view our Maker::BASE presentation slides here
Last leg of our final projects and things are heating up. After the break some tittle tattle on Github authentication and jumbotrons.
We finally managed to deploy our final project to Heroku today, huzzah! We had a lot of help from more experienced people to help us debug our deployment and figure out exactly what was going wrong. But it's done now and we'll be pushing regularly to make sure everything works.
